Hello,

Growing up, my mom used Sazon and the food was delicious. Saw it in the grocery store so I thought I would try it and man I'm happy that I did. Fish, chicken, beef, all taste great with this stuff! It's my new crack.

I add it to beans too. Saute some onions in butter, add a can of beans juice and all, and a half packet of Sazon and let everything reduce and then serve the beans over rice. It's so good.

Sazon and Adobo are the best. We use it a lot in my household.

I love it too! Someone gave me homemade recipes for Sazon and Adobo. I use the Sazon the most. I like using annatto, it has a brighter flavor. Paprika is earthier in flavor.

    Sazón
    Makes 5 Tbsp.

    1 tablespoon ground coriander
    1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon ground annatto seeds (or paprika)
    1 tablespoon garlic powder
    1 tablespoon salt

Mix all of the ingredients together and store the sazón in an airtight container. It will keep fresh for about 3 months.

In recipes, use about 1 1/2 teaspoons for each packet of sazón.

    Adobo Seasoning

    1 tablespoon garlic powder
    1 tablespoon onion powder
    1 tablespoon dried oregano
    1/2 tablespoon salt
    1/2 tablespoon black pepper

Mix all of the ingredients until well blended and store in a glass jar.

Use 1/2 to 1 tsp to season 1 pound of meat.

    Yield: "4 tablespoons"

Thanks for the Sazon recipe. I have always made my own adobo, but never Sazon. It's nice to have a MSG alternative!
