What's a good, realistic, goal time wise to shoot for a first 5k? I'm less than a couple of hundred miles to walking 2000 miles, but not a regular runner.

I don't know what the part in bold means.
Time depends on the person. If you are looking at a particular race, look up the results from last year to see how fast the slower people went. That at least will tell you how competitive the race is in general.0 -
A good time to finish is whatever time you finish in.
Its your first race, go out and have 5k. Focus on finishing.0 -
Shoot to enjoy your first 5k and finish without walking. You'll have your starting point and a place to improve from. There's no right answer to what you should shoot for as far as time goes.0

Good is relative. Good for a middle-aged new runner is different than 'good' for a high school cross country member. 'Good' for me is terrible for someone else, yet fantastic for another person.
Its your first time. Go out and run it and see what happens. Once you have a baseline, you can improve from there.

A brisk walking pace is 4 miles per hour, so anything under 45 minutes seems reasonable if you're not a regular runner.0

Many people start off with a run/walk method. Hal higdon is very popular and also various c25k apps for your phone.

23:300

Ok, so under 45 minutes seems reasonable and doable. That helps, thanks. So if I hit 23:30, that will be sweet, too.
Not sure why so much bolding??? Only *first* was supposed to have been bold.0
