Protein Power and Bloating

So I have been taking a new protein powder (just the supermarket kind, nothing fancy) for the past few days. Each day I have taken it, I have been on the heavier end of what is normal for me. The one day I did not take it, my weight dropped to my lightest weight. Has anyone else had this ? I'm taking over a kg difference between when I take the power and when I don't.
Any suggestions on how to deal with it ? Should I keep taking and power on through it ?

Some people's guts don't react too nicely to whey.

As long as your losing weight and it doesn't affect your health some way, keep taking it OP.

I can't tell if I am losing weight as it is making the scales go crazy

Start using measurements as another way to see if you're losing weight.

I'm going by the scales only in this case. I don't have time in the morning to get out the tape, measure, write it down and then log it somewhere when there are four other people needing the bathroom.

My guess is that you're sensitive to whey (milk allergy/sensitivity). Try soy. Soy is another common allergen, but your body might tolerate it better.

I'm 40 years old and I *never* had problems with dairy until I started consuming whey. Most people who are sensitive to dairy are sensitive to the sugar in it (lactose), but whey can also be problematic. Anyway, try soy based protein.

The protein powder has both whey and soy in it according to google. Never ever had a problem like this with any other protein powder I have tried (even the cheap and nasty ones).

Very annoyed since I spend $$$ on it and can't drink the damn stuff anymore. This is the ONLY one that tastes good !!!

You've only been taking it for a few days? I don't think that is enough data samples to form a conclusion yet. Could be completely unrelated fluctuations. Has your carb and sodium intake been consistent during the same time? 1 kg daily fluctuation is not really significant, that is only a quart worth of water.

for me, taking protein powder regularly (3 times a day when training, 2 times a day on rest days) means also needing to eat 5 dried prunes twice a day. For me, that balances things out. :)

My weight never flucuates like that and only has since I started taking the powder. Skipping it today.

I'm taking it because I don't have money to buy much protein so this helps bump it up.
