It depends on what the dosage of them is and you should not take more than the directions say unless directed by a physician. Mine are three a day.

    One a day of these

    http://www.lepicol.com/products/dr-tolonens-e-epa-60-capsules/6178

which allegedly are concentrated "A normal fish oil supplement will contain around 18-20% EPA. Dr Tolonen's E-EPA by comparison contains 70% EPA" "Each capsule contains 500mg of pure EPA"

sounds interesting. Is that 1g of fish oil or 1g of active ingredient ?

Sadly I've had to stop taking high dose omega 3 as they give me really bad acne.
It took me ages to work out what was causing it as they're generally considered good for the skin.
Obviously this is an unusual side-effect but I thought I'd mention it in case someone else was plagued with it and just couldn't understand why :ohwell:

    Serving Size 2 softgels
    Servings Per Container 30

    Amount Per Serving
Life extension super omega 3 w sesame lignans and olive
    Calories 25
    Calories from Fat 25
    Total Fat 2.5 g
    Cholesterol < 5 mg
Pure+™ Wild Fish Oil Concentrate 2000 mg
    Yielding
    EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) 700 mg
    DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) 500 mg

the epa and dha is the most important!
you need around 3000 mg of the COMBINED EPA DHA for the effects in the research i have done. So most people that are just taking serving size are not getting apparently the benefits of fish oil.. This is the one I take. This had the highest combined i could find along with the process of the fish oil etc.. Only thing i believe was stronger is the one that is lovaza which is prescribed...

you can get a similar amount of omega-3 fish oils from supplements as you can get from Lovaza. Lovaza provides 840 mg of EPA and DHA in about one gram of fish oil per capsule, of which approximately 465 mg is EPA and 375 mg is DHA. The suggested dose is 4 capsules dailyTo keep down the number of capsules (and oil) you need to take, Lovaza uses an extremely high concentration (about 84%) of EPA and DHA. If you want to achieve the same convenience, look for fish oils with extremely high concentrations.

    MOST are just crap..

I take Krill oil instead. They have no fishy after taste.

WONDERING: Are they just as good for me? Do they equal fish oil?

Krill is basically fish oil, but it's reported to be even more bio-available.
