Weighing cooked rice properly?

Hi guys,
I've been weighing rice after its cooked for awhile now and i've suddenly realized I've been getting very little rice for the very high amount of carbs according to MFP.
I know the macros for rice stay the same whether water is added to it or not. Water also makes rice weigh heavier so 45g uncooked does NOT equal 45g cooked correct?
On the bag, the nutrition label it has the macros for 45g rice (uncooked I'm guessing) is typically:
36 carbs
3 protein
Did some research on weighing it raw beforehand and is this the correct formula/method?
eg. I weighed 526 uncooked rice. After cooking it came to 1226g cooked.
1226/526 = 2.33
2.33 x 45g = 1 serving cooked
Of course the numbers will change depending on how much uncooked rice weight /water used/cooked weight.
Is this the correct formula/method on weighing cooked rice? Or should I just continue weighing it after its cooked on MFP?

You have 526g uncooked. So it's 11.68 servings. Your 1226g are still 11.68 servings... so a serving is 1226/11.68, so about 105g.
So yes your calculation is correct, we just got there a different way.
MFP's cooked rice entries are way off, if I remember properly.0 -

I just scanned the rice bag's barcode with MFP scanner and going by the macros from the rice bag's nutrition label (36 carbs 3 protein etc for 45g)

Yes, I just realized this when I've been weighing it AFTER its cooked and said to myself "this is way too tiny of a portion for 36g of carbs!"0 -
All of the varieties of rice that I have currently (6) have serving sizes in cups, not by weight. Measuring by poritions of a cup for rice is much easier than weighing in my opinion.....0

To each of their own but not everyone wants to eat a cup of rice in a sitting/can fit it into their macros you know?
Weighing is extremely easy if you have a food scale0
