Waist exercises

See my profile pic, taken this morning. I've lost 8lb and only got 3 to go to my goal weight (I'm 5'3, 49, 129lbs).
The last 3lb is proving tricky to shift and to be honest I'm happy with my current weight. I do however, need to see an improvement in my waistline! Side ab crunches, twists and back raises don't seem to be having much impact so I wonder if anyone can recommend some exercises I can do at home that can improve the tone around my middle?

heres a few options
lose more weight
strength train at maintenance calories
strength train at a small caloric surplus and then lose a few pounds0 -
Quite honestly, i never found crunches and other ab exercises really efficient for waistline. I think you just need to exercise in general, hit the gym or the pool so that you tone your body overall and the waistline will follow.0

Have you tried Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred? I am on day 7, and I can see a visible reduction in my waistline, and I have lost 2 inches.0

Think about it. If you exercise your waist, you muscles will grown in the area. What you need to do is lose fat, and for some of us, that last place it comes off is the waist. Of course general strength training is an essential part of being fit and toned. Just keep eating well, get some cardio and do some strength training.0

Shoulder presses, no I am not joking.
Also, cutting out wheat and reducing sugar had an amazing effect on my stomach and waist.0 -

have you considered that your goal weight and goal physique are not one in the same... I know how it feels to approach a goal that has taken a long time to reach and you don't look how you expected. Its hard to swallow, but, ya gotta just keep at it.0 -

Yes, this is very true. I don't need or want to lose any more weight actually, at my age I think it's important to have good fat for future health- I think I need a change of mindset and focus on the goal physique. Thanks for turning the lightbulb on!0
