Eating enough calories

I've only been back on MFP for 5 days and have noticed that on a few of the days MFP tells me i'm not eating enough calories. I'm truly eating until I'm full, but the move from certain high calories foods to lower calories foods has made it a challenge to eat the minimum. What have others in this situation done? Should I go back to eating whole eggs instead of whites?

Fat is not automatically bad... Our bodies need it actually. So if you're gone the extreme method of going to all light/fat free options, find a middle ground.

    Calorie dense foods

    Peanut butter
    Cheese
    Ice Cream
    Wine
    Beer
    etc......

ETA: yesterday you ate 1150 calories...... :unamused:

I'm not eating low fat foods on purpose, just switched bacon for turkey bacon, eggs for egg whites, candy bars for almonds, beef for chicken. I think my fat intake for the day is just about right on target.

Really beer... Hmmm I'm not opposed to that. Thanks for the suggestion I love PB and Cheese so maybe I can add some nice cheese to my diet as a snack each day.

    Undo some of your swaps.

Whole eggs are great. Have beef sometimes. Have more almonds if you like them. Have more slices of turkey bacon, or go back to regular.

    Looking at your diary:
    - get a regular English muffin, not a light one
    - did you not have any moisture in your tuna sandwich today? oil? mayo? butter?
    - speaking of which. you cook an egg and put it on light bread... nothing used in the cooking, nothing on the bread? (eg Thursday)
    - you eat ... a piece of dry chicken for lunch, that wasn't cooked in anything, with nothing on it?
    - you seem to never drink anything but water?

I do not want to sound mean, because everyone is different and you should eat how you like to, but your diary seems kind of sad to me. Maybe try to find more foods you are passionate about and incorporate them. Why can't you have mayo, tomato, lettuce, maybe some avocado in your tuna wrap, for example? Why not have some dessert the odd time? Coffee? Maybe some avocado or mayo, cheese, veggies, bacon on your breakfast sandwich? Heck, you could have a second breakfast sandwich. Sour cream? Cottage cheese? Cream cheese? Feta? Yoghurt? Use oil when you cook stuff. What about more fruit?

Losing weight is NOT about the lowest you can go. It isn't a game. This is your body, and your life. You need to fuel yourself, take care of yourself, enjoy yourself. Cut some to lose weight, eat to live well. Don't try to see how low you can go, it isn't healthy.

Honestly I use my griddle to cook everything and don't need oil or butter to cook. I like your suggestion about adding moisture to my tuna I'll look at using some mayo there.

Lots of awesome suggestions and I'll incorporate many of them.

    This. All of this.

If there are calories left over, that means there is room to add joy to your meals.

No really I can't. I measure everything and record everything. I'm also losing quite a bit this way but I know I'm not eating enough per day.
