Just be sure the food you've entered into your diary has correct iron counts. Many entries don't include micronutrient info so reports are often inaccurate.

OP, as Eudoxy stated, if tracking iron is important to you, make sure that the data base entries you select have iron entered for them. A lot of them are missing micronutrient information.

I just had my quarterly check-in with my dietitian and I am happy to report that my iron (ferritin) levels have improved from 13 to 15. My dietitian is happy that the numbers are going in the right direction. All my other blood tests came back in normal ranges or rising as well (calcium, vitamin D).

I take Palafer daily. The Canadian percentage daily value of iron is 14mg, and Palafer is 300mg per capsule. For our little @BlondeBeauty5 , to be taking a therapeutic amount of iron to replenish reserves, you should be taking 2000% your daily value of iron. In percentages.

So do the maths. I have been taking Palafer daily at 2000% the daily value for the average Canadian for three months to gain me two points (13 to 15) on the ferritin scale. Normal iron ranges between 12-300 nanograms, so I still have plenty of room to raise that number.

AND I take my pill with meals, including my Calcium supplement.
