Hi
Quick question; has anyone tried a detox. I am thinking of cleaning things up a bit.
I am a vegetarian anyway but am thinking of trying a week without dairy and bread etc. Has anyone tried this and noticed any positive effects.

A year or two ago I did a detox of just unlimited fruits and vegetables, all natural yoghurt, and a whole lot of these all natural herbal pills. It lasted for about 10 days, and I felt pretty good after it! I only lost about 2-4 of pounds (because I didn't really have much to lose at the time), but it set me off eating healthier and losing more pounds after that to become the fittest I'd been in a while. I would definitely recommend a healthy detox like that- but none of those dangerous detoxes like the lemon detox diet! You want to be giving your body good nutrition and not starving yourself0

I tried a three week detox a few years back and felt it did wonders for me. I try and do it every year now, generally after Christmas.
I think it's about finding what works for you - the detox I went on was pretty hard core, no red meat, no dairy (except bio yogurts), no wheat, no fruit (except banana's and lemons), no artificial preservatives (so pretty much anything in a jar or tin) and then the usuals, no caffeine, sweets, alcohol and so on. It's not sustainable for longer than three weeks which is why I only do it once a year.
I feel it does me great, I always have more energy during and after it. Other people might have different experiences it really depends on how you feel about it.0 -
Funny you should bring up "detox"...i have been reading how certain yoga, pilates and barre "twists" help detox the body. Help clear out your digestive track. I will say the more barre3 and yoga i do... The more energy I have and the more "regular" i am...0

Your liver and kidneys do all the detoxing your body needs. If you need to "detox" then seek an emergency room quickly.0
