Probiotics could help with your bloating. The best way to get them is by eating a fermented dairy product like yogurt or kefir, though I have heard that the supplements are beneficial, too. Kefir is known to be a probiotics powerhouse! The best is made from fresh, raw milk. If you don't have the luxury of that - which I don't - you can buy the stuff at the store, but I make my own from skim, homogenized milk and it is incredibly easy. Although I usually put it in smoothies, my husband drinks it straight (tastes like very tart plain yogurt to me). We started this to cure his digestive issues and horrible dermatitis - and as long as he consumes the kefir he has no problems and healthy skin! There are many websites, but the one I suggest looking at is Dom's Kefir In-site, this guy knows what he's talking about , cites scientific sources and there are tons of links to recipes, etc.. - here's the URL

BTW, from your homemade kefir, you can do amazing things like make your own sourdough starter and brew kombucha.

Thank you, I have read about it helping dermitis. Do you think it would be safe for children? My 3 year old is covered from head to toe very severely. I'm not sure I could make my own, is it easy?

Kefir, taken daily. I make my own using raw, organic milk from grass-fed cows.

No, he's had it since birth but the docs can't seem to get it under control

Read about making your own kefir. Yes it is super easy! Add the grains to fresh milk, cover with a cloth and let it sit for 24 hours at room temp in a cool place with no direct sunlight. voila! Kefir. Then you strain it through a mesh sieve to retain your grains and start all over. It's best to get kefir grains locally, in lieu of having freeze dried ones mailed to you. I got mine from my sister, who got hers from a guy off Craig's list. I know that sounds iffy, but it's been a couple of years now and none of us has died! :) You have to obtain kefir grains to make kefir - sometimes people are just trying to give them away - they grow really easily. Kefir has been around for thousands of years - a mainstay to the people in Caucasus - so I venture to guess it is very healthy and safe for children. Ask your pediatrician. Best wishes!
