Prerun Stretch...Beginner

Should I be doing a prerun stretch? For how long? Suggested stretches? I'm a starting over beginner using a C25K app. (Ran a few years ago with no streatching...want to do it right this time!) Thoughts?

I do not stretch before running. I walk for 10 minutes and then run.0

I think generally static stretches are not good as a precursor to high intensity stuff. Before any workout I normally do some glute bridges, a few walking lunges and bodyweight squats to sort of wake up the right muscles, and before running I do hip swings in both directions, with straight and bent legs - basically exercises 8-11 from this link:

Before getting going properly I walk for a few minutes, then jog VERY slowly keeping my knees high, then kind of do the opposite so my heels are getting really close to my bum, then off I go running. It seems like a right procedure but I have an issue with my hip caused in part by not warming up properly/poor form so I take it seriously now!0 -
Look up dynamic stretching. I do these with every class I teach just to get every body area moving and blood into the muscles before working out.
