Vegetarians?

Hello! I've been a vegetarian (lacto-ovo) for about 3.5 weeks now. I can't believe I have made it so long, and I feel awesome! Anyone else out there in the same boat?

I started mid January and have discovered so many delicious foods that I can't believe I'd been living without! Edamame and roasted brussel sprouts main among them. Haha.0

I've been a vegetarian since I was 9. I am now 22
I would never go back! There's a group on here you can join if you want, called Happy Herbivores, to connect with other vegetarians and get ideas and inspiration

I have been vegan for nine years. I thought it would be impossible to be happy as a vegan, so I told myself I would do it for two weeks so that I could prove it and never have to think about it again. At the end of the two weeks, I saw no reason to go back. So I didn't.0

Seriously though. Can someone clear up the various categories of vegetarian for me?

This is pretty clear, and it only took me about 5 seconds to Google...
I identify as a pescetarian (mostly), but I'll eat Giordano's with sausage and Portillo's hot dogs and Italian beef when I go home for Christmas...
...because it's f%$&ing delicious.

You're thinking of vegans. They're the ones who only eat plant foods and absolutely nothing from animal sources whatsoever.
Plain old vegetarians will eat eggs, dairy, or both.
Pescetarians will eat what vegetarians eat plus fish.

I seem to recall based on my research that "vegetarian" used to mean what "vegan" means now - that being, no animal products. The term "vegan" was created because "vegetarian" started having the common meaning that it includes eating dairy and/or eggs. At least, I think I'm remembering that correctly. Sometimes people will use "strict vegetarian" instead of "vegan."
But, to be more precise, there are pescetarians who eat fish, and lacto-ovo vegetarians who eat dairy and eggs. Or, you can be lacto-ovo pescetarian. In other words, more of a "plant-based" diet. But, typically "veg*n" means someone has ethical objections to consuming other animals, while "plant-based" usually has no ethical connotations. It can be a hassle when eating out, because there are a lot of people who think vegan is the same as lacto-ovo vegetarian.0
