I competed in the Tactical Strength Challenge today and had a blast! It is something that Strongfirst does in the spring, and again in the fall. There are Elite, Open, and Novice divisions for men and women. It consists of 3 events - a flex arm hang for novice women or max dead-hang, no kipping, pull-ups for everyone else; a max deadlift; and the max number of kettle bell snatches you can complete in 5 minutes. The weight of the kettle bell varies, depending upon the division you are competing in. I was in the women's novice, so I had to use a 12 kg bell (~25 lb).

I managed to do a 58.2 second hang, a 290 lb deadlift, and 148 snatches in 5 minutes. I am still pumped about the days results - all of the lifts were PRs for me! My hang increased by 13.2 seconds, my deadlift was up 10 pounds, and I increased the number of snatches I was able to do by 6.

Here's a video of all three lifts for me today. I'm just so excited about this, that I had to share it!! There is no way I could have ever done this a year ago!
