"Window of Opportunity?"

Wassup Community,

I keep on hearing that some foods/snacks are crucial to increase your "window of opportunity" after your workout. Especially food/snacks packed with fast-digesting carbs and contain a good amount of protein.

What are some foods/snacks would you guys sugggest (other than shakes) to increase your post-workout gains.
