I weigh 255 & have tried a 1200 calorie diet for long time & kept close to that often but no weight loss. Now I've reduced my calories to 800 & will try again. I don't eat snacks & never eat after supper. I guess my main problem is lack of exercise but I hardly ever sit down since I'm actively working almost all day... Cleaning, laundry, sewing, gardening etc. any ideas???

800 is, frankly, stupid.
If you weren't losing at 1200, you may be eating more than you think.0 -
If you weren't losing, you were eating too much and it was way over 1200 calories. 800 calories is unhealthy and won't be supported in this community.0

If you weigh 255 you will loose eating 1200. But you have to eat 1200.0 -
You're eating more than you think. 1200 is already very low for your size. I started at 248 and have lost eating no less than 1500 a day, and most days are 1700-2000+.0

I started at 250 and am on 1500 cals and losing consistently. You could try exercising more, but you should be losing even without it. You're not entering foods with guessed quantities, are you? "Bowl of cereal with milk" isn't a thing.0

i was 260.6 pounds when i started the first of October 2014. ( so about 6 months ago)
I lost almost 90 pounds now. On 1200 to 1300 calories a day....and in the beginning no exercising at all.
800 is far far to low and dangerous and totally unnecessary.
when you didn't lose on 1200 calories then you were eating more than you think.
Weigh ALL your solid food and measure you liquids.
Even on a higher calorie intake than 1200 you lose weight.0 -
All of the above. If you're not losing at 1200, you either have a medical condition or you're not eating 1200 calories. Either way, reducing to 800 is not the answer.0
