PCOS does not define me

Hey all! So I've been on Fitness Pal for a few years but never have ventured out to anything outside my personal fitness pal world. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 12 years ago when I gained over 60 pounds in a matter of 6 months. I have always been an active person.... My eating however, has been a struggle as I don't eat meat. I've struggled for years and years until I found a dr willing to help me by prescribing medications and understanding my body. Since then, I have chosen to take a more holistic approach in trying to correct my PCOS side effects and insulin resistance. It's been a very long and slow progress. Fast forward to today.... I have lost 40 pounds and currently workout 5 days a week (3 days weight training and 5 days cardio). I eat based on micro percentages. Every week is different in reference to what works for me. My body is always changing and seems to be working against me. Anyways, I am hoping to find guidance, support, someone to hold me accountable, and maybe help someone else along the way! Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little. I look forward to new friends to walk along side me on this crazy journey!!

Hi. Read your story. How frustrating it must have been for you to go through those 6 months!!! But WOW! You didnt let too much time go by before taking an aggressive turn for the better! Especially the work out routine!! Proud to hear the weight loss and routine are keeping you focused and driven. I read about POCS & the mayo clinic said that weight loss reduces the risk of long term complications. You really took this by the horns. Great, great, job! Keep it up, girl!!!!! You're an inspiration!

Thank you so much! It means the world to me. I have a long way to go but know that I am making positive changes to my body inside and out! It's taken a long time to think that way but it's much easier to stay motivated when you do. Here is a before and after.
