I'm 4'9 at 100 pounds trying to get to 90. I just want a smaller waist [Mine is 26 inches, trust me, doesn't look good on someone my size] and thinner legs. I workout 5-6 times a week. 1 hour 1/2 of cardio and 30 minutes of the weight machines. I know that there's no magic food that'll just shrink my waist and legs, but I feel like it's my horrible diet keeping me from losing any more weight :( Please go through my atrocious diary, feel free to give me any tips, I need them. Carb junkie :(((

    Open your diary.

    Weigh and measure all food.

    Eat at a deficit.

It is now open. Are you logging everything you eat? You have many very low days.

From your diary, I think you're a little hard on yourself.
Apart from the occassional binge, your diary is pretty good except for the fact that you're not eating that much (~900)
I've done the yo-yoing of eating 900 somedays and 2000 the next, and honestly the best way to fix that is to find a mid ground. I'm 5'2 which is slightly taller than you, but I reckon if you aim for at least 1300 with the amount of excersize you do, you will be fine :) It will definitely help with any cravings you have as well :)

Word of advice moderation is key :)
This is just purely my advice - I am not a doctor or a health professional (just a med student)

It doesn't really matter what you eat, as long as you are eating a good mix of macros (carbs/protein/fats = 40/30/30), and eating enough calories and maintaining your deficit. If you eat below your BMR, you will lose lean muscle mass as well as fat. You don't want to do that. It's not a good idea to try to push your body to lose weight too quickly. If you want to try to reshape your body with a trimmer waist and look a little different, try heavy lifting. Cardio is great for fat burning initially, but your body gets used to the same exercise. Lifting for body recomp changes the shape of your muscles and your body overall. Remember, your body shape is what it is and it may not be possible for you to have a smaller waist than you have right now (Similar than trying to have a thigh gap if your hips aren't built for one).

You are starving yourself. Most days, if you are logging accurately (although you aren't weighing your food), you are eating significantly under your calorie goal of 990, which is already too low. This is why you are having the occasional binge day where you are eating so far over. You need to eat far more calories than you are eating. You don't need to lose any weight. Stop eating at a deficit, now, and start a lifting regimen.

MFP wont give anything lower than 1200cal/5024kj. You must have entered that value yourself? Trust me, I have been there and done that. I was netting stupidly low amounts when I first started. Often 700 calories. I am 4'11" so not one of those tall people that need to eat a lot either.

You only have such a teeny amount of weight to lose. I would aim for a loss of 200 grams (0.4lbs) per week rather than closer to 1000 grams.

Please be kind to your body and feed it! I am going for 1300 calories this week, up from 1200. We need to eat. Even shorties.

MFP shouldn't be giving goals under 1,200. This may be why you are tempted to binge. Your goal is too low and you are even under that.

I don't know if your goal is realistic. Have you thought about body recomposition?
