We ate out, I didn't choose, but we went to a hibachi japanese restaurant, and I had chicken, veggies, and rice and 2 small garden salad (lettuce and carrot only). I didn't add any sauces, and only ate about 1/4 of the rice I was served, but I can literally *feel* the sodium. The vegetables must have been cooked in soy sauce or something. It makes me sick feeling. And I had a great weigh-in this morning, I guess I will be retaining lots of water tomorrow....

And even though I didn't "clean my plate" the calories from lunch and my yogart for breakfast add up to almost my daily total. I feel sick.

A cheat day once in a while isn't going to hurt one bit unless you let it get in to your head and decide to throw in the towel and give up. Learn from it, log it, and move on :flowerforyou:

repeatedly drink 32 oz of water with one fresh lemon squeezed into it. Do this 2-5 times today, with ice, if you can, drink it medium slow, not gulping, it will help... You can also add cucumber and mint if you want, lemon and cucumber are both diuretics and it will help draw the sodium out of your blood volume.

Lady you better stop feeling down about enjoying your life :)

Log it, continue with your day/night and drink more water to help compensate the sodium.

    Tomorrow is a new day!!
  • My suggestion: Do NOT weigh yourself tomorrow. The sodium is guaranteed to make you retain water, which from my experience, could add up to a good 3-4 lbs. Don't worry about it, and just continue to eat as you normally would. There's no sense in punishing yourself by starving, or by working out like a mad person to burn off all the extra calories. I know how it feels, but sometimes we just have to let it go, and keep making progress:)

That's just one day, and it doesn't sound all that bad. Yes, the sodium is crazy at places like that, but you made the best choices, and I hope you had lots of run. Now quit getting down on yourself and look forward to the next day!

You haven't blown anything. One meal will not make you fat, or prevent you reaching your goals, or undo your progress so far, any more than one low calorie meal will make you thin, or prevent you from gaining weight. What matters is how you eat most of the time, not the fact that you've exceeded your goals on one isolated occasion. I lost 85 lbs, and on the way I had plenty of days where I went over my calorie goal - sometimes way over. I still lost 85 lbs though, because most of the time I was hitting my goals, and that's what counted.

I hope you at least enjoyed the meal. Don't let your efforts to lose weight get in the way of enjoying life.
