So I'm mostly just looking to lose weight at this point, but I know it's a good idea to do some strength training along with my cardio. I own a recumbent stationary bike and use that 45 mins/4 days a week. I'm now looking to add in some light strength exercises 2 days a week, without going to a gym. I've been looking into resistance bands but wanted to get opinions on whether that's a good idea or if there's something else out there I should get that is small and relatively inexpensive. Also, if anyone has sugestions for workout routines with the bands that would be great!
For information: I'm just starting out losing weight and exercising. I have little to no upper-body strength now. 5'8", CW 272, First GW 250, Long term GW ~150.

I like resistance bands and you could get some 8-10 lb dumbbells. I invested in a weight bench after using smaller weights for a while. Also, simple push ups can really help and those are FREE. Hope that helps:)0
