I have been on the Herbal Magic program for a year now and have lost over 50 pounds. I it to be breaking my savings account and I believe I could do it without spending upwards of $400.00
per month. I've heard people talk about Weight Watcher's point program and was wondering if anyone could give me some feed back on their opinion of both

Expensive. WW is good for their support meetings, I guess.

    But otherwise, I'd say no.

Use MFP, it's free and works.

MFP is based on the only scientific proven principal of fat loss. Calorie In vrs Calorie Out, Aka CICO or eat less then you burn.
All that is required is you accurately weigh your food and log it to create a calorie deficit.

As a huge bonus, If you are doing it correctly them more fat you lose the less money it cost. Simply because you consume less food.

I'd say go with MFP. No cost and it works. WW is good but expensive (I'm a lifetime member.). I've lost 45lbs with MFP counting calories in/calories out. There is no magic needed, herbal or otherwise.

If the word "magic" is being used, don't pay for it.

Being in the fitness and diet industry for years, many companies will tell you how wrong all other programs are but theirs.
What all diet programs have in COMMON is that weight loss doesn't happen without a calorie deficit. So regardless of how great that program claims to be, unless a calorie deficit is instituted, it's not going to work.
Now for the good news: calorie deficit counting doesn't cost anything. No program to buy, no shakes, supplements, cleanses (which aren't scientifically supported) etc. You just eat your food and eat less of it. MFP is a great tool on just how to track it.

I'm giving this a serious try. The only thing I find I need is someone to be accountable to on a regular basis. I'm determined this time though. I have a grandson to be healthy for

What exactly are you paying 400 dollars a month for?

    You are joking, right?

This is MFP, a free calorie counting site, right?

The primary person you should be accountable to is yourself. being accountable to somebody close to you is helpful and being accountable to a group can even be helpful.

If you are only wanting to join WW for the support and accountability but want to keep tracking calories on here, look into TOPS. Their yearly membership fee is less than one month of WW membership fees.

I did WW before coming here and while some things were good about it, their points tracking app is absolute garbage. Stick with this.

Buy a food scale for ten bucks , eat the foods you enjoy within your calorie goal. Weigh and measure everything you consume to ensure your within your daily calorie goal, log it accurately . that's all you need :) no need to spend hundreds , everything you need is here already. Your food scale will be your best friend :)

Thanks for the support. I think I have pretty much made up my mind to kick the Herbal and keep using MPF.
