30 day challenge app

Well... I have come to discover that I have a great fear of strength training (probably because I really need it so it hurts) and so I keep postponing starting a regimen. I found this app that condenses many of the 30 day challenges, such as day one do 3 push ups, day two 6 push ups, so on and so forth. Would this be an okay way to build up strength to do a "real" program?
