logging for a weekly total

I know some of you log for the week instead of the day. I'm thinking of doing the same for a few reasons. I like the idea of logging an entire container instead of individual servings. I'm thinking it will also help to not waste food, if I've put it in my log that I need to eat the whole container to meet my weekly totals. I am slightly worried I'll get bored of my foods, but then I can start over at the end of the week and sub in different foods or create a new plan. Also this plan, if it works, would seriously simplify my shopping.

Do any of you do this or something like it? Is there anything I need to lookout for if I attempt this (i.e. making sure I get my daily protein in)? Or do you think I'm totally nuts? If you have done something like this, what were your challenges?
