Mouth is burning.....

I ordered 2 green papaya salads from our favorite Thai restaurant last night and neither my DW or I finished them off. I totally forgot she likes to add red pepper to her's, so I inadvertently started to eat her leftovers just now....................and now my mouth is numb. I like "mild" spicy. My DW likes "blazing" spicy. Eating strawberries now to help reduce the burn.

Here's what the salad looked like:

Note to self: add blazing spicy peppers to my lunch so coworkers stop stealing it. Mwahahahaha.

I've come to realize... I definitely fall on the "hotter" side o the scale- always surprised by what people consider spicy... can't wait to see the salad when I get home- sounds delicious!!!

I have a friend who drips Bhut Jolokia ghost pepper sauce on just about everything he eats. Out of curiosity, I took a toothpick and just dab the end to try it. It was like a bomb went off in my mouth and for the next 30 minutes or so, I was putting a cold spoon in my mouth. I suck at spicy foods even though I'm trying to up the scoville count.

    LOL- that's impressive.

I'm not that die hard- but I go through containers of red pepper flakes like it is my YOB.

I usually dump it north of a 1/4ish cup in my chili (makes about 8 servings in my pot)- it's absurd.

But it's funny I don't like hot sauce- certain things I just don't like- but I love my chili, curry, salsa and wasabi/soy all pretty spicy- but I'm not one of those put Frank's on everything.

Keep working on it- it gets better LOL

Yeah. I tried again tonight, but could only muster a couple of forkfuls.
