A steep goal but starting the climb

Hi everyone!
I'm not precisely new to MFP since I've started short stints of it in the past but this seems to be the time it's sticking. In fact, this is my 40th day on it and I've already made some great progress. These forums have been invaluable for inspiration, support, and info.
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi since I'll be sticking around for a good long while. 249 pounds don't come off overnight after all.

Welcome-ish! I recently re-started MFP after some time off and I want to lose about 45 lbs more by this time next year (inshallah)
But I will share with you the wisdom I've gained in the [too many] years I've been here!

These threads have been invaluable to me! I highly suggest that you check them out if you have not already because they are truly amazing!0 -
Welcome! I mean, I'm new too so I'm not sure I'm anyone to welcome anyone, but ... you know what I mean. I have about 35 pounds to lose, and I love the tone you strike because it's what's helping me stick with it this go-round ... that realization that wow, this is going to be a long-term thing, better settle in for the ride!0

Thanks ladies. Any encouragement helps and that thread link was amazing. Definitely going back to read that when my mind starts to wander.
Yeah, I think it's all about building habits that I can keep for a long time. I'm eating what I want but within my calories and, eventually, within my macros. I've tried Paleo, Atkins, low fat, you name it, and those always backfire for me.0 -

I couldn't find the thread and I need all the wisdom and support I too can get.
Hi Tim, I love that you want to change the stereotype and blaze new trails.0 -

"I'm a huge proponent of eating what you want within your calories!"

And it's weird that the threads aren't showing up. I'll go find them again!0
