Eat the things you want, and enjoy, and fit them into your calorie goal.
You will know when to move to the next stage!
Firstly,
Counting your calories and incorporating the foods you enjoy and will continue eating FOREVER is important. Become an expert at measuring, weighing, and JUST meeting your calorie goal. Get used to the exercise portion and TRACK calories and exercise consistently.
Secondly,
Once you know how to eat at a calorie deficit and you're seeing some progress then you can incorporate tracking and watching your macronutrients. This will be carbs, fat, and protein. Find what works best for you and adjust your current meals and try to consistently hit your macros. At this stage, try and hone in on your workout routine to increase efficiency.
Thirdly,
At this stage you can track cals, macros, your workouts, and you'll be seeing great results at this stage. You can look more closely at making sure you're getting all your vitamins, minerals, that you current macro goal is working for you (and if not start to adjust depending on how you're body is responding), and lastly that you're seeing the kind of results you want to in the gym.
Lastly,
Enjoy your success.0 -

You can do it! Just remember, Rome wasn't built in a day! It will take time for you to get the hang of everything. Just be consistent and deliberate and everything will work out. It's trying to do too much all at once that isn't sustainable and might make you frustrated.

Eat whenever you want, as timing of meals, has no relevance to weight loss. Eat what you usually do, only less.0
