Fat around my belly button

Okay guys...I've pretty much always been petite, but I had my son 4 years ago and ever since then I seem to have like a circle of fat around my belly button. Like 2 inches all the way around! I'm active..I run a pretty good bit. How do I get this to go away?!

Great question. If you ever find an answer other than "just keep a calorie deficit and lose more fat overall" i'd love to hear it.
I have stubborn fat in this area but i'm not willing to get any leaner to alleviate it.0 -
Fat loss is never location specific. In other words, you can’t spot reduce. Lose fat overall, and hopefully, you’ll get what you want there.
Short of that, surgery is the only way to pull fat from a single location.0 -

Same here. I don't need to lose anymore weight. That one spot just seems to stay!0 -

yep. I feel ya. We're in the "well you can lose more because you cant spot reduce" or "learn to live with it" group.

Guess I'm the, "learn to live with it" group. Glad I'm not alone in this boat!0 -
Is it fat or lose skin?0

I have this too, after 3 kids I have a little "doughnut" as my DD calls it. I've found it just gets more wrinkly if I go lower than my goal weight, not really smaller or less obvious. I'm hoping that slowly with strength training and re-comping I might at the very least fill the area with more muscle, but I don't think the belly button skin is ever going to completely go away, maybe just turn into a mini doughnut :P0

Fat. I have no loose skin at all. It's like I have no fat anywhere else except that circle around my belly button and nothing I do seems to work.0 -

Haha I think I can deal with a mini doughnut myself!0 -
I have something similar, its like a tire. Like my intestines are protruding out a lil bit. I work hard in the gym, eat healthy and eat way below my "recommended" calories to loose weight, my body got used to this, but im not willing to drop anymore calories.
What I do once a day, is something called Stomach Vacuums. You can do it standing, take a deep breath, and out. Do this a few times and after u FULLY exhale, suck in your stomach from the belly button, try to feel like your insides are being sucked towards the lower back, play around with your technique, you'll find it. Make sure u are not hunched over. Try to hold it as much as you can but don't pass out lol. I think this has helped me since I started but its still not the flatness I'm looking for. You can find instructions on YouTube0 -
I have it too it and my hubby is like why is your belly button hanging when i was on the bed reaching for something haha and another time when i was laying on my side and had to find out why. I researched it and its supposed to be normal to a certain extent its supposed to be there but you can research it out but its what i came up with because i have the exact issue your referring to. I hate it. I was told my my physical therapist i have a weak lower core and a little extra cortisol than I'm supposed to so i believe now that I'm thinking out loud its due to ccortisol and or possibly a weak lower body core system. but i have it. I'm an hourglass shape and i look like i belly dance professionally cause it lean everywhere but that one tiny spot has and elevation thats stubborn as who knows what.0

No problem ! any time. I see dudes that are super flat in their lower abs, its probably my genetics. I don't like it one bit. Hopefully the vacuums keep helping0

YES!!! Mine does the exact same thing when I'm bending over and laying on my side! I can't stand it. I figured it was due to a weak core or something. Thanks for the insight!0 -
Just get leaner and it will disappear0

Fat. I have no loose skin at all. It's like I have no fat anywhere else except that circle around my belly button and nothing I do seems to work.
Not true. You have fat throughout your body, you just don’t have any fat that is readily apparent through your skin other than this one location.

I am aware that I have fat throughout my body. I said, "it's LIKE I have no fat anywhere else." Not that I don't.0 -
