How to stop the cravings!?

Ok, so I get the worst cravings and I eat back the calories I sweat my butt off for. I crave sweets, and no matter how much apples, watermelon, tangerines I eat they do not substitute a warm fluffy donut, or cookies, or ice cream!!
Same with chips, i love chips. I get these cravings and I have to eat Hot Fries , even though I know there are better options in chips (Popped), but nothing compares when I get a craving.
I know these cravings are holding me back from truly achieving my fitness goals. Anyone have any advice, tips..input..? Please share.

Regarding the chips craving ... when I started logging my food here, I realised my sodium levels were quite low. I was getting less than half the recommended amount. Then I realised that my craving for chips was likely a craving for salt. I started salting my food, and the craving for chips went away.
I also eat a pickle about every other day. That helps too.0 -
I'm sure you know this, but you can still eat cookies, ice cream, donuts, hot fries, whatever! It just has to fit into your daily budget. And if you're having a hard time overeating...you don't HAVE to give into cravings. Do you control the food or does it control you? It's helpful to think: will eating this make you happy an hour from now? Tomorrow?0

If I'm craving something salty, I thinly slice a cucumber , squeeze 1/2 a lemon on it, then sprinkle some salt. It's so yummy and crunchy. Kinda like a chip0

I understand completely, I've been eating whole foods for over 40 days now. I had cravings when I first started, and then they left me for a while but these last couple days they flared up again. My craving is usually salty, I just wanna shovel chips and salsa down my throat, lol.
What helps me get over the craving is to remember that I have been doing good, and in time I'll slowly add things I love back into my diet but in a healthy way. The best way to do this is make the things you want from scratch. My favorite foods I eat at restaurants and snacks I would consume, there's a way to make every single one of them and it would be more healthy since you control what goes in it and how much of it you have.
You want sweets? Try adding flax meal in place of some flour and make a muffin in a mug or those yummy chocolate and oat cookies held together with peanut butter (or almond butter!). Learn what healthy swaps you can make and plan to make small portions, then after eating do something else for a while, drink some water or tea and put your mind elsewhere.
I completely understand the chips thing, I've been making zucchini chips which probably sounds gross. Slice them thin, sprinkle a LITTLE pink salt on them (Hawaiian or Himalayan) and whatever other seasoning you'd like. Pop them in the oven for an 1 to 1 1/2 hours at 225 degrees. If you can't stand the veggie or can't wait, these homemade chips would still be healthier.
Good luck to you (and me, lol). We can do this!0 -
If you figure out how to get rid of cravings, let me know! I constantly crave ice cream and pizza and I've lost 70lbs and have been doing this for like a year and a half and my cravings have never stopped.0
