Starting....Again.

I've started and stopped countless times. I don't know what's supposed to make this time different, but I want it to be different. I hope it will be different. I have no problem going to the gym when I have time to exercise. My problem is diet. I Love carbohydrates. Absolutely adore them. It's sooo hard to resist. I don't know if anyone is in the same situation as me, but I sincerely hope this time will be different.

    Good luck to you this time! We have all been in the same exact boat at one time or another. Just don't give up on yourself. I, too, LOOOOOVE carbs...and chocolate...and chips...and anything that is terrible for me haha. The trick is to eat in moderation. You don't have to restrict every delicious food out there forever. Just count calories

    Thanks! I'm going to try not to give up on myself. I just want to get that body that I've always wanted, I just feel like it's unattainable after all my failed attempts...

    When you say "carbohydrates", are you talking about sugars or just all carbohydrates in general? I don't find that eating a lot of carbohydrates interferes with my fitness goals. If anything, they help give me the energy to achieve them.

    Buy a food scale. Weigh everything you eat. Learn how much you are truly ingesting. Adjust from there.

    I have also tried and was doing well this time last year and then failed, I fell out of logging and exercising for about 6 months and piled on the weight I lost and more. I'm just starting again this week and it has been successful so far (hope I continue to be successful). On reflection, I was doing well before but found I could only go a week or so doing well with food, then felt like I needed a break and allowed myself a weekend to relax on foods - have chocolate, cake etc, but that weekend always turned into much longer as I'd find it so hard to cut out the carbs and bad foods again by Monday- so I would then be on a bad few weeks or even months. I have always had a problem stopping myself at one biscuit, or 1 treat and end up overeating when I do allow myself those things.

    I really think it is about frame of mind more than anything, once you have that you really consider everything you put in your mouth more. Secondly, I think if you are in the right frame of mind with food, then it also inspires you to do more exercise, which then also helps you to not overeat after exercise as you know how hard you worked burning those calories.

    I hope you can overcome this and things will finally click into place for you this time, I know it is easier said than done but have faith in yourself and you will transform your body into the way you want it, be positive and you can do it! Set yourself realistic, achievable targets and perhaps reward yourself with something when you achieve them (although not food).

    Re-reading this, I really just need to take my own advice this time aswell!!

    Thanks, guys. And, with the carbs, it's like potatoes, white bread, ect. that I just love. All the things that are absolutely terrible for you!
