Sleep Problems anyone?

I started a fitness "boot camp" this week. I work the overnight shift and about the only time I can go is right after work. The problem is, when I get done I'm mentally wired for the day. Physically I can barely move, but my mind won't shut down and I end up with one or two hours of sleep. Definitely not enough. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and what they did for it.

  • I'm not sure what kind of sleeping ritual you do, but sometimes reading helps calm me down. Also, a sleep aid tablet can help. Oddly enough, the sleep aid and a run of the mill allergy pill have exactly the same active ingredients. They take about an hour to kick in for me, and it helps a lot.
You are a big guy...when I weighed 290 I could take two, but now at 245 two knocks me out too hard and it's tough to get up.

I occasionally suffer from insomnia. I know it can be a serious problem but I do not have an answer for you. Here is a good article on sleep though

Exactly why I don’t work out after work.
