Bad workouts make me stabby

I feel like venting... Had a crap workout just now and wished I spent that hour doing something else. Instead it was an hour of a pathetic attempt at running.

I could have spent that hour doing just about anything else. It annoys me because I *love* running. I was looking forward to it all day. But when the time came, my legs stayed home and someone put lead poles in their place.

Oh well at least I put a few miles on my feet. Now I am irritated that I didn't get the "work" done that I needed to.

We all have bad workouts. You made an investment, it might not feel like a good one right now, but it is on the books. Rest assured it will pay off.

At least you worked out, I've been terribly sick this whole week and hating myself because I can't work out lol.

You just have to accept it, move on, and know that you'll do better next time.

And if all else fails, just do a burpee lol .

Actually, that workout where I blew out my rotator cuff was a bad one. And the one where I popped my sternum and couldn't deadlift for like a month, that one was pretty bad too. I think in the long run I'd have been better off not doing either one of those workouts and doing one later that didn't injure me. And bench press workouts where the bar falls on you and you die, those workouts are pretty bad, I hear.

OP, I know what you mean. Not many things put me in a fouler mood than tanking my squat workout. It's ridiculous how much that can screw up your day.

Well that's obviously not what I meant, I was just trying to be encouraging.

did you at least make your 1000 calories in that hour?

lol no - I think it gave me something like 500. No worries tomorrow is going to probably be a 3000-3500 calorie day (3.5hr ride, transition run, and a 4500 yard swim), and sunday is a 15 mile run so I'll kill 1200 or so from that. I should pretty easily cross the 7000 threshold for the week :)

I occasionally have days where one lift or another doesn't work (such as deadlifts today, ugh) and I wish I'd done a different lift. But even on my bad gym days, I never wish that I had spent the time watching tv.

I share your pain, and I understand that feeling. Tomorrow will be a better workout!

Today must be bad workout day. My swim was more like a drowning rat, pathetic! I've been all stabby about it, too.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

OMG I thought I was the only one who felt this way when a half-***ed workout happens for whatever reason. I spend the whole rest of the day mad that it wasn't better and didn't get that 'good workout' feeling in the end. I usually try to tell myself I must have needed the rest and tomorrow will be better, but it still definitely doesn't help the grumpy.

Today was rainy all day and just crappy!!!!

I don't feel so bad now because I think we have declared this Friday... BAD WORKOUT DAY!

My mind said "get er done" but my muscles said fine we will do it, but.. do it at your own risk! I left off 2 exercises...oooops...

I have been up since 3:00 this morning, so I blame the lack of sleep... Tomorrow is supposed to be my rest day... to rest or not to rest? that is the question now...???
