Any opinions on liquid detoxes? It was suggested to me that I should do a lemon water detox for three days supplementing it with one fruit and one vegetable per day. Is this healthy?

No it isn't healthy, but you will lose a a pound or two in water weight which you will put back on as soon as you start eating food again.

No. Not healthy and not needed. Detox is a myth any way (the way it is used in the context of diets). Your liver and kidneys do this for you. If they are not working properly you need medical intervention, not "detox".

I tried this and didn't like it. Too much fruit (so too much sugar) and I thought the vegetable juices were generally awful. And I didn't lose weight.

Lemon water tastes nice, especially when you drink it with a sensible meal that fits into a sensible calorie goal. Don't believe the hype.

Whoever suggested the detox to you just demonstrated how ignorant they are.

Who suggested it, and for what purpose?
There are some known health benefits to fasting.

But there's nothing wrong with sugar or fruit. Sugar is only a concern if you have a medical reason to track it.

Agreed. Your body detoxes via its liver, kidneys, and by eliminating said waste several times per day.
