Walking on Treadmill

So I've been walking on my treadmill for 30mins each day at an 10% incline... does anyone know about how many calories I have been burning?

How fast are you walking? What do you weigh?

If that's you in your icon there and you're walking 3-3.5mph... eh... I'm going to guess...

    Hmm...

    250 calories.
  • Oh, I weight 143lbs and I walk at a speed of 3.5... thanks though for answering ;]

You should look into getting a HRM to determine how many calories you're burning. It will give you a decent idea.

I walk on a treadmill / a incline of 10 for 30 minutes and my treadmill says I've burned average 258 calories. When you incline you almost double your calories burned. Plus you will gain muscle and that burnes more calories. You go girl!!! Keep it up you will see results.

If you do not hold on to the handrails, at your weight you will burn ~550 cals/hr.

You won't gain any significant muscle.

When I am walking outside I go on a very basic idea of 100 cals per mile. So if you do 3.5 miles per hour that would be 350 calories per hour.

But I think that the 100 cals per mile is very average based on a healthy weight person walking on the flat. But I figure that if I go with that idea, at least then if I eat back some exercise calories I am not going to be overestimating my calorie burn.

I walk for 30 minutes at a 10 incline and burn about 220 calories going 3.2 mph according to the treadmill. And I weigh 151.

Does your treadmill let you enter your weight in? This is very helpful for me because I change speeds/incline all the time.
