Hello, I have overworked my something.... my lower back feels like it's got a pinch on my right side, and my right knee hurts on the right side.... after studying the internet, I think it's possible it's that muscle that runs on the side, and it does feel tight, how do I relax it.... and can I continue my low impact workouts? I think trying Day 1 on the Insanity, is what got me in this pickle.... Any advice? Thanks

massage can work wonders, if you think it's muscular; chiropractic if you think it's more joint/bone related, yes you can continue but I personally would take a rest day (or at least a non-Insanity day), what's the point of continuing Insanity and taking the risk of worsening the injury or doing the exercises incorrectly because you're compensating for the pain?

I agree that rest is the best remedy. You don't want to make it worse. I recently had a minor lower back strain - I rested for 2 weeks before starting up again. Years ago I had a major back strain and that put me out of commission for 6 weeks. Not fun, a painful experience.

Once you get back on track try adding in some post exercising stretching to stay loose. Depending on the specific muscles that are too tight, you might benefit from using a foam roller.

What you're experiencing is common to everyone doing a routine for the first time. I always get all kinds of sore when I try new things. You need to rest until you can do the workout again without experiencing major pain. Taking a week off is not a bad idea because it lets your body recover. Your body will adapt, and over time you'll need less and less rest time to do the same thing.
