1200 plus 300 for breastfeeding

I'm only a week in, but I just want to check I'm not being stupid about this. 165cm (5'4), 70kg (154 lbs), and I want to lose the last of my baby weight.
Mfp has given me 1200 and I'm giving myself an extra 300 as I'm still breastfeeding but not exclusively (baby is 9 months old and on solids but still feeding 6-8 times a day).
I'm not struggling too much, but having read a few threads where people say 1200 isn't a good goal. I guess I'm really on 1500, but breastfeeding must count.
I've always had heaps of milk but still am a tiny bit concerned this could effect my supply. I guess I could leave it longer and see how I go, but yes, tiny concern...
I'm actually enjoying getting my comfort/overtired eating back under control and showing myself that eating more empty carb calories doesn't actually make up for sleep (nothing does, except hoping the baby will start sleeping, and the toddler will give me a break during the day.... Haha as is)

Your supply shouldn't change, unless your not getting enough nutrients. Breast feeding is a great way to burn calories and great for the child! 1500 sounds about right, 1200 is way too low.

Personally I wouldn't consider dieting whilst breastfeeding.... But I'm not a mother yet!

I would think that 1200 is too low for your stats if you were just someone trying to diet though, and weren't putting breastfeeding in to the equation. Taking in to consideration the types of foods you are eating is important and it sounds like eating more nutritious food is doing you good - perhaps just add a bit more! (especially healthy fats and protein?)
