OP, it's not healthy to eat less than 1000 calories.
Your body is probably trying to hold onto the weight it has, hence the absence of weight loss.0 -
No, it's not.
If you were truly eating 1000 calories a day (which isn't healthy, btw), you would be losing weight.
Do you weigh and measure your food?
Do you log as accurately as possible consistently everyday?0 -
Open your diary.0

If you were actually eating less than 1000 calories net every day 100% accurately with no cheat meals/days/hidden calories using a food scale and properly measuring everything and not kidding yourself you would be losing weight. You'd also feel like *kitten* from not eating enough.
Luckily, you're likely eating more than you think. You can open up your diary if you want (make it public in settings) and maybe we can see where you might be making mistakes.0 -

What does 'not lose a lot' mean? To me it implies you are losing which is to be expected with your stated caloric intake. However I think you may be understating your intake (not on purpose).0 -
There seems to be a slew of these posts recently, all written in the same style.
Hmmmm.0 -

Hmmmm.
Agreed, I'm highly suspicious but I'll play.
OP - I'm going to ask the standard questions. Do you weigh EVERYTHING? Do you log EVERYTHING? If you do and you are still coming in at under 1000 cals then you need to see a Dr. If not you are eating more than you think.
Unless medically supervised you should not be eating under 1200 - and even this would be very little for your stats.0 -
How long has it been since you lost? Most likely, you're eating a lot more than 1000 (which you shouldn't be at that level anyway)0

You can loose weigh without starving yourself. Plus its extremely bad for long term health.0

The bolded part=not true0 -

The bolded part is actually a myth. OP, when you say you're not losing "a lot" of weight, what does that mean?-2 pounds a week when you'd rather be losing 5?
Also, eat. You can damage your health.

No it won't. If you don't eat enough, you lose weight. Your body doesn't hold on to the fat, it burns it!

I'm getting so sick of this "starvation mode" crap. When is it gonna end? Haven't you all seen the commercials about the starving kids in third world countries? Do they look fat to you?0

Starvation mode is very misunderstood and misused on this board, however, starvation and the theory of starvation mode are two different things.
I also agree the OP isn't experiencing starvation mode.
Can you open your diary?0 -

I'm 173 and wish I was 86kg. (Hint: I'm 30kg heavier than you and now that I've actually written that down I kind of want to go cry somewhere.)
Eating less than 1000 is really, really dumb. I can't even imagine how you'd do it.0 -
OP must be a liar, or magic. 1,000 calories can make nearly anyone lose weight, unless they have an underlying medical condition and a very low BMR.0

Maybe the OP is a midget.0

173cm is not a midget. It's like, 5 foot 8 and a half or something.0 -
Nobody knows what the OP is eating.
Probably not even the OP.0 -

less than 1000? Are you serious? I was eating less than 1000 calories at one point and now i struggle with a binging disorder because of the low calorie restriction i was doing for 6 months. Seriously you should be eating no less than 1490 calories a day. Anything less than that is just setting yourself up to fail.0

No, you are not eating 1000 cals otherwise you would lose weight.0
