Foot Pain

Hi everyone,
I just tried to do week 1 day 1 of the couch to 5k. I could only get through half of it because I had incredible pain on the top of both my feet. I have never had this happen before. I usually almost always get shin splints if I try to jog, but I don't usually get foot pain.
Any advice? Also, I was walking/jogging on concrete. Could that be the cause of this?

Better fitting shoes, icing afterwards, and never skip your stretches.
