Does it reduce automatically at the end of it

For me it goes down fairly quickly at the end. I've learned that when my weight starts creeping up and I know I'm doing everything right, it's probably my period starting.

I gain 5 pounds during that time. When it's done I lose it.

While I know it's water weight, it doesn't make it any less annoying.

Water retention. Plus I become constipated, sorry TMI.

I can gain 2kg but it comes off within 7-10 days

Personally, I stay away from the scale when my TOM starts. It upsets me. As long as you eat right until it's over you will notice that you have still been losing weight :)

you know, if you lay on your back and balance the scale on your feet, it can make you really happy :-) Just sayin!

My weight will fluctuate up to 8lbs!! A spike like that has now become an indicator of what's about to happen with my body!

not automatically, but within a few days, it should be gone, as long as you keep your water intake up and all that.

If you eat to much, it's fat, if not, it's just water or possibly poo.

It's water retention. Plus, you'll probably crave salty, fatty foods during this time, which doesn't help. Your body won't flush out the sodium as quickly. I have found that if I drink lots and lots of water it helps. I've tried to curb my cravings, but I just can't. They are, like, unbelievably strong. Luckily, I only get the strong cravings for about a day. I just go with the flow (no pun intended). Avoid the scale, drink lots of water, work out, and be patient (HA!). That's how I roll. Cheers to being a girl, huh? :/

I just had one day of cravings this TOM, as opposed to a whole week. Previously, I would not get as big a post-period Whoosh of weight drop as I should due to giving in to cravings premenstrually.

I do eat chocolate, but my strong cravings are less these days. I'm going to try a magnesium supplement to see if that makes even more of a difference.

What your choccy cravings are trying to tell you

...While we all get peckish, there’s a difference between feeling hungry and having a sudden urge for a specific food. In fact, intense food cravings can be a sign you’re deficient in certain nutrients.

    ...YOU CRAVE: CHOCOLATE

WHAT IT MEANS: Chocolate is rich in magnesium, so strong cravings could indicate a deficiency in a mineral vital for your skin and hair.

What’s more, levels of the mineral drop during the second half of your menstrual cycle, suggesting a possible link with many of the symptoms of PMS.

‘Drinking too much alcohol, tea, coffee and fizzy drinks can also deplete levels of magnesium,’ says Nicola Lowe, professor of nutritional sciences at the University of Central Lancashire.

TRY: If it has to be chocolate, opt for one that contains at least 75 per cent cocoa, as this will contain more magnesium and less sugar.

Nuts are actually a richer source, particularly Brazils. Leafy green veg are also good, as are brown rice, wholemeal bread, and pumpkin seeds — though not quite so moreish.

If you’re a chocoholic and suffer from PMS symptoms such as irritability, headaches, cramps and bloating, it may be worth trying a magnesium supplement

    Water.

But the awesome thing is that if you keep the scale steady, your weight just plummets at the end! lol.

They've done studies on cravings. Unless you've got pica, they don't mean anything....sadly!
