Is anyone else on here pregnant? I was using mfp to loose weight, but recently found out I was expecting! I want to continue to use mfp so I can monitor my food and make sure I'm eating as healthy as possible! How many calories do you eat? Please feel free to add me!

I'm not, but congrats! I wish you a healthy, happy pregnancy!0

Talk to your doctor, but I think typically you just add 300 calories for the pregnancy.0

Congrats! I'm pregnant too and that's the only reason I'm on here ( not to track cals but to track protein, I really struggle with it at the moment because it makes me sick so I have to count every gram!) You don't actually need any extra calories above maintenance for the first two trimesters (assuming you are not over or underweight?) but in the third trimester it's about an extra 200 a day. Just make sure you're hitting all your macros and taking a good prenatal vitamin with DHA. Best of luck!0

I'm pregnant too! I'm eating about 2000 cals per day, but I'm thinking I should go a little less. What @heartisalonelyhunter is saying is what my doctor told me. My doc said she only wanted me to gain 15 pounds the whole pregnancy, so I really really want to stick with that (I started my pregnancy at 175, about 30 pounds over my goal weight.) I gained 5 pounds over the last couple weeks since the only thing I could stomach was carbs and if I didn't eat something my stomach tolerated, my morning sickness would totally ruin my day. So now that my m/s has subsided I'm back on MFP to track everything and eat healthy. I tried exercising through the extreme fatigue the first trimester brings, but I couldn't get in runs or weights, just walking. I plan to get back to running and body weight resistance exercises this week. Just eat as healthy as possible through the morning sickness and try to exercise :-) Congrats!0

I'm in the same spot. I used mfp and exercise to lose 80 pounds a few years ago, then I started slacking with counting calories and gained back about 25 pounds. I went from 225 to 140 to 165, and was pretty comfortable since my clothes still fit. Now I'm 15 weeks pregnant, and have been logging my foods to get all my protein, iron, and calcium goals. I'm hoping to only gain 15-20 pounds, so I'm also watching the scale like hawk.
I didn't increase my calories during the first trimester, and happily I didn't have to deal with ms. I didn't gain any weight during the first trimester, so I hope I'm on track. I recently increased my calories about 300/day, but I'm mostly sticking with healthy foods.
Good luck ladies, and congratulations!!0 -
Thank you ladies! Im eating about 1800 calories and I know because if how much I weigh I shouldn't gain a whole lot but I'll definitely talk to my dr. Congrats to all you expecting mommys!0
