Hi, Can anyone offer some advice on what is best to eat when you have hypothyroidism ?? I hear you should cut out gluten but tbh I'm not fond on that idea but if needs must !

I have that too but am very against cutting whole groups out. I have lost 13lbs so far just doing deficit. I'm at 40% carbs, 30% protein and fats. I did cut od own on white foods - bread, pasta, sugar - but that's just cuz of my own habits of overeating those. Did a professional tell you gluten free?? I've never heard that.

There is no special diet, unless you also have other medical issues, like celiacs.

I have a problem with a lot of sugar and fatty food intake. So I try to limit my food that has a lot of sodium, sugar, and high saturated fats. Like baked goods ( cookies, cakes, confectioneries), fast food, junk food( fast food, chips premade ready meals) , and kid cereal. But that's just me.

I'm hypo, but tested negative for celiac disease, so I haven't really cut anything out and I've been fine. Calories in, calories out.

Edited to add: If normal calorie restriction doesn't work for you after a few weeks, try something else - everyone is different.

I also have hypothyroidism. I haven't made any diet changes and wasn't told to. I was encouraged to keep working out regularly as that helps your overall body processes!
