Curious about what is your "why" to start a more healthy and fit lifestyle!
For me it all started with a bad break up in high school, so I started using the gym to take all my stress away. Then as I seen all these "gains" and results with my body, and especially the feeling of positivity it ended up becoming addicting and ever since then I've always had a great passion for working out and maintaining a healthy lifestyle!

The gym is my sanctuary! I have 3 young kids and my husband travels all the time. I could get away from my kids while doing something good for myself! Then last year I got cancer. I know part of the reason I've bounced back from each surgery and done so well on treatment is because I was really fit to begin with! It's a real motivator for me.0

my "why" is a direct result of a summer vacation trip that my husband and I took in 2013. We went to a resort where they take your pics and then you can buy them. I knew I had put on weight, but those pics REALLY brought it home. A few weeks after that I hired a personal trainer -- and haven't stopped since then. I use those pics as motivation!0

My story is a little dark. I was in college and living in a dodgy neighborhood. A group of guys (probably in their early twenties) started harassing me; I ran and they chased me for a block. I ran all the way to my apartment as fast as I could and when I got there I thought I was going to die because I was so out of breath. I committed to working on my cardio immediately. Strength training came along a few years later.0

I wanted to lose weight because I was tired of being obese.
Wanting to be fit came much later. I didn't even start regularly going to the gym until last Nov, even though I have been serious about losing weight since around Aug 2013. I don't really start out with goals in mind, but then I get the unexpected results like my exercise headaches are gone, my resting heart rate is in the high 40s, blood pressure has dropped significantly, HDL is sky high, hiking is so much easier now, I am starting to see real definition in my thighs, upper back, and upper arms, I lost two sizes but only dropped five pounds. Like losing weight, it is kind of a positive feedback loop. The more you give, the more you get, and the more motivation comes to keep with it.0 -
My doctor told me I needed to lose weight, or I'd wind up a diabetic. So I lost 76 pounds (and I'm not done yet) and reversed my insulin resistance.0
