Freeze a banana then blend with scoop protein powder0

I don't think you will find a home made version of this. Its so chemically processed that making it at home will probably be nearly impossible. I would go with bananna ice cream or a sorbet.0

I really was not a fan of Artic Zero in fact I took 2 spoonfuls and tossed it in the trash
I LOVE Halo Creamery Protein ice cream though nom nom nom but it's pretty expensive at $6 a tub. There's a ton of great videos on you tube for making various 'healthy' or protein ice creams.0 -
Also, ice cream really isnt that caloric. Those little "sundae" cups you can buy (the ones with the cardboard lid in the little plastic cups that come like 10 to a sleeve)...only have 80 calories each. And they taste WAY WAY WAY better than artic zero (which is NASTY, IMO). Regular ice cream is only 120-180 calories for a half cup, depending on what type you get.0

Yup. I have also found that 40-calorie sugar free fudgesicles are great if you crave something frozen or chocolatey but don't have the calories.
But the banana and protein powder trick--that's perfect if you're low on protein (since most ice cream is what, 2+ grams?) but you will be eating more calories than you would with a full-fat full-sugar ice cream. The banana alone will probably have more calories than a reduced sugar ice cream.0 -
Any ice cream recipe can have fewer calories if you lower the fat content of your dairy and maybe use fewer yolks (if you're making an ice cream with eggs.)
It won't taste as good or be as thick and creamy, though.
Sherbets are great, too. And easier to thicken/harden if you use less booze.
There are great ice cream cookbooks out there. Surprisingly (or not), the Ben & Jerry's one isn't good. "Sweet Creams & Sugar Cones" is a nice place to start.0 -
Thank you very much for all the helpful advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!0
