Changes I need to make??

Hi guys
So I've had a look back at my diary to work out why I'm not losing. I've identified a couple of things I'm doing wrong but please add more if you see something I can change. I'd really appreciate the help

Also can you bear in mind I'm disabled so my exercise is very low due to physical limitations

I need to reduce coffee and drink more water
Need to reduce carbs and eat more protein
I need to plan ahead for dinners and have more nutritious meals
More fruit and veg

I have started weighing stuff now and will continue to do so for better accuracy

I am scouring the Internet for low cal meal ideas and recipes as I'm so bored of the food I normally eat, which is why I'll quite often just grab a bowl of cereal or fruit for dinner. Also my illness and medication can make me very queasy and bloated so I can't always manage a big meal

Thanks for any help you can offer
Keely

I can't see your diary, but when it comes to weight loss, the things you mentioned are secondary to creating a calorie deficit. You may feel better if you drink more water, eat more protein, get more nutrients, and get more fruits and vegetables, but weight loss will happen as the result of a deficit.

Weighing stuff is a great tool to help create the deficit.

There's nothing wrong with those changes is you are looking to improve your overall health (although, cutting coffee would put those around me in danger ;)) And, if those changes increase your calorie deficit, then fabulous!

But, in the end, it's the calorie deficit that is going to make you lose fat.

Hi thanks for the replies, that's just the thing I am eating at a deficit. That's why I thought I should look a bit closer into what I'm eating. Seriously cutting down coffee will be hard, particularly on anyone who lives with or near me !!
I've opened my diary so I'm hoping someone might spot a red flag or something

It looks like your diary is still closed.

I think it's a bug from what I've read, people are saying they can't see people's diaries via the app but can via safari?

I'm on a computer right now and have been able to see other open diaries today. However, if it is a bug, I apologize.

are you sure you are a deficit? use a food scale? choose correct entries? logging consistently?

ETA I can't see your diary and I am on a computer not the app on my phone.

I wouldn't worry about cutting back too much on coffee. Guess it really depends on how much sugar and cream you add! Maybe switch to unsweet black or green tea?

Weighing is going to be your best tool for this. Chances are, you're eating more than you realize. That still happens to me! Swapping out things so you're adding more veggies and less carbs is good, but not really for weight loss. It's good for your body in general, so yeah, definitely start changing what you eat for that regard. But you don't have to cut out everything you like; just learn what an actual portion of it is, and fit it into your daily goals. That's how I didn't end up gaining 10lbs over Easter! XD

I thought I was being accurate but I am starting to wonder now. I have started weighing stuff, even my grapes this morning! I think I maybe rely on entries in the database where I could use the scanner more or packet whatever. I do log everything, even the less nutritious stuff ie chocolate

Just check the values on the entries you use....

and make your own if you want...see post above on how to make sure entries are correct and change/add them.
