As much as I love coffee I love my tea. I've been a tea drinker since forever, but recently i introduced new blends of tea to my daily diet. I try to make tea with ingredients that would increase my metabolism. Green tea is the basic way to go, but why stop with that? I like to add lemon or mint to my green tea or even ginger. I also like white tea I add saafron or a little bit of rose water to it. Try adding tea to your diet it's good way fill your need for snacking and it a great easy detoxing method :)

Sure. I like tea, but I don't think they have magical metabolism boosting, detoxifying properties. They're just a tasty, calorie free beverage...

I like Tea but I have a hard time drinking it without sugar or honey if it's hot. Iced tea I can do plain without any issue.

No, tea will not boost your metabolism. You don't need to "detox", that is what your kidney and liver do. If they are not working optimally , you need medical treatment, not "detox".

Agree no metabolism-boosting (other than caffeine), or detoxing (other than antioxidants) magic.

Mm - yeah - tea is great - black, green, herbal, or whatever. Sometimes I add lemon, even a little honey if I have a sore throat- ooh, and some rum, too, if I'm stuffed up. But, no, it's not magic...

Yes, I should have clarified that... Tea isn't magic; but rum is- so, tea only becomes "kinda magic" when it's a vehicle for rum... :)

Lol. How about putting the rum in the tea?

I drink tea everyday. I drink it because I like it. I'm under no illusion that it's going to impact my weight loss or the "toxins" in my body in any significant way due to the blend.

The thing about green tea is that it may increase your metabolism by about 4% (I'm basing that on this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10584049 - I'm sure it will cause debate). That means that if I burn 2200 calories daily (my personal maintenance level - yours will vary), drinking green tea will add an additional 88 calories burned. 88. That's pretty much within the margin of error when you consider all of the little inaccuracies and estimations we're dealing with during weight loss.

I drink red tea in the evenings because it's caffeine free and I like it. I add ginger, lemon, and mint to my food because they're tasty. If they have a metabolism boosting quality, that's fine, but it's not going to be enough to really make a difference. I'm not even going to touch the idea of detoxing.

I drink a cup of tea every day and if I drink two I make the second one a decaf because I get headaches if I have too much. For me it's a warm, cozy drink that's no calories, no sugar or honey for me. I have also gotten used to the idea that I don't have to have something sweet and crunchy to go with it, which is huge for me. I love Bigelow Earl gray and Vanilla chai the best, but I try all different ones.
I usually drink just water, so for me, It's something I definitely enjoy as a yummy 0 cal drink.
