Without a fit bit or HRM what is a good and accurate website or app for calories burned during elliptical training? I get different numbers depending on what I use and just want to know what the most accurate amount is. Thank you for your time.

If you are using MFP's estimates for calorie burns, most people only eat back 1/3 - 1/2 of the calories back because the calorie estimates are too high. I typically cut the MFP estimate by 1/3 any time I have to use it for an activity that I didn't use my HRM and this worked for me. You can try that for a month and if you are weighing all food while accurately logging your food, you should see a weight decrease. If not, then you may use 1/2 of the MFP estimate.

Thank you  I will give that a try

  • I don't normally eat back any of the calories it says I burned. Is it necessary?
