Can the body still build muscle doing low carb with high protein . My body is starting to pack on some fat and I don't want it .

It's possible, just not optimal. Carbs are important for bulking.

For energy thought right ? I am a slow builder and I work out hard every time . I also pack a lot of fat when stuffing my face with whatever just to get calories and carbs up

If you're putting on a lot of fat, then just don't stuff your face as much? Too big of a surplus is going to result in fat gain, no matter which macro(s) it comes from.

A little light reading for you regarding bulking and macros: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/muscle-gain/macronutrient-intake-for-mass-gains-qa.html/

Erik, from personal experience I've done it and gained muscle, but at a certain point you'll need to add in some carbs just to properly fuel your workouts. You can do it in a healthy way (sweet potatoes, fruits, rice, quinoa, etc.)

Stuffing your face isn't the solution. As you've discovered you'll gain muscle but also gain fat.

Being ketogenic isn't optimal for muscle hypertrophy to happen. mTOR is needed to promote muscle protein synthesis and reduced energy and ketosis suppress it.
