Chamomile Tea + Lifting

Hey all, I get very severe Panic/Anxiety attacks during the day/random times.
I stopped taking prescribed medicine for it since it totally destroyed my libido (It's better now though!)
It seems that Chamomile has been helping whenever I get one..
These panic attacks do make working out and lifting harder at times but I push through it and control my breathing and try calming myself more.
TL;DR QUESTION: If I happen to get an anxiety or panic attack few hours before working out (let's say maybe 4 hours) and drink chamomile tea to help calm me.. will that hinder my performance later in the day for workout?.. I also take pre workout 30m before lifting.. which may not help with anxiety but it puts me through workout a little better

I don't know for sure but chamomilie is not a sedative so I would think you'd be fine. I would not drink tea with valerian in it, though, because that is sedative and in many relaxing, sleepy time teas. Just make sure you read the tea ingredient list.0

I'm a therapist and here is some basic info I tell my clients - use deep breathing...a lot...even when you feel fine...the more you practice the easier it is to use when you are feeling anxious/having a panic attack. INTENSE physical exercise is great at decreasing symptoms of a panic attack. When you have anxiety, your heart races and your breathing becomes fast and shallow which freaks out your brain because there is no logical reason for your heart to race or for your breathing to be fast...by doing the exercise it's telling your brain that that is why your body needs to work harder. Use progressive muscle relaxation...again, this takes a lot of practice for it to be effective. Another technique that can be effective is to fill a big bowl with ice, place a paper towel over it and then rest your face on the ice.0

Haha well.. I mean like she is aware I stopped taking them so I am just looking for more natural ways.

- Thank you! I work on my breathing daily and I feel working out has helped, I'm not totally perfect though!

Just to let you all know, it turned out fine yesterday. I did not even take pre workout and still had the energy for the HIIT then Lifting.0

Chamomile Tea is used for treating hay fever, inflammation, muscle spasm, menstrual disorders, insomnia, ulcers, gastrointestinal disorder, and hemorrhoids.
Nothing in that should hamper your lifting.0
