How long can it last?

I know, I've read all over here that starting a weight lifting program during weight loss often causes you to stop loosing weight for a while. But for how long?
I've been doing stronglifts 5x5 for 2 weeks solid, and I enjoy it. In the past 5 months, I've lost 50 pounds. But the moment I started lifting, I was at 189, and now 2 weeks later, I'm still at 189. Still eating pretty much exactly the same calories as before. I know that muscles retain water when lifting weights, but eventually that has to level off and the loss of fat from continued calorie deficit has to win out, and weight has to continue to drop. I still need to lose another 10-15 pounds to finally enter into the "healthy" BMI range (though this is the closest I've gotten to it in many years...).
So, for those who started lifting weights while still losing, how long did the plateau last?
Thanks in advance!

Still eating pretty much exactly the same calories as before.
just to clear things up, do you mean eating the same amount of calories as before you started stronglifts, or when you first started losing weight?
how many calories do you eat? coz after a 50lb drop in weight, depending on what calories you started with eating you may need to drop it down.0 -

Same calories as before I started stronglifts, 2 weeks ago. It's about 1600 or so per day. This is definitely still a significant deficit for me.0 -
I try to weigh in two days after a lifting session because even 6 months into stronglifts my weight jumps the day after lifting. You retain water when your muscles are repairing. Give it some time and realize that there are going to be daily variences in your weight, and they can be quite drastic the day after lifting. I know some people like to weigh in right after working out because then their water stores are depleted (although usually when I hear about this, it's people trying to make a weight class for fighting or lifting competitions).
Looking back, I had some really wild swings the first two weeks of lifting, and then it's seemed to level out some.0 -
Thanks for posting this. I have been wondering the same thing..0

Are you getting noticeably more muscular?
I don't see you gaining muscle on 1600 cals per day, even to lose weight you should probably up the cals. Are you taking any supplements like creatine ?0
