hey everyone! I'm vegitarian, more specifically pescetarian meaning I can eat fish and other sea food. I never realized my high carb intake until tracking on here..how can I cut those out?? I love salmon and shrimp so those are my main sources of protein- any other suggestions? I really want to cut down the carbs. any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated! thanks guys!

What is it you're eating that has high carbs? Many non starchy vegetables are low carb. Nuts and olives are low carb. Sauces can be high carb if you use them on your fish and shrimp or readings. . .0

How low do you want to go? Cut out processed sugary stuff and grains. You'll be left with low-carb goodness: fish, veggies, nuts, etc.0

Are you eating beans, lentils, peas? Almonds? Those have protein and carbs.
Reduce bread, cereal, pasta, rice, and sugar in order to fit in your protein.0 -
How many carbs are "too many"?0

i'm having the same issue as a pescatarian trying to up my protein intake. i've just changed my typical breakfast from 2 eggs to 3. i'm going to change my midmorning snack from an apple and peanut butter to greek yogurt and berries (and add a scoop of protein powder). i usually have a salad with shrimp or fish on it for lunch, i'm going to start adding garbanzo or black beans as well. cottage cheese also has a lot of protein, so consider that for a snack, as well as beans, lentils, and peas, as the person above said. nuts of course are high in protein and have good fat, so as long as you're watching the fat intake elsewhere, those should be good. i also have been working in clif builder bars - they are high in sugar, but also have 20 grams of protein per bar, and give me my chocolate fix. they are soooo good.
also keep in mind that fruits and veggies are carbs - i feel like those (personally) are ok, its just the breads, pastas, cereals, etc that i have to minimize. do you have target macros that you're going for? my goal is 40% carbs, 30% fat, 30% protein, and my end goal is to lose fat and gain muscle. what are you trying to do?0 -

All vegetables contain carbs. The only foods that don't have any carbs are meat and fish. There are some vegetables that are low carb, you will have to look them up. There are many listings on the web for low carb foods.0

I'm pescetarian too. Focus on making sure you get your protein and fats in, and the carbs tend to fall into place.
My main protein sources are:
white fish
salmon
canned tuna
cheese
milk
eggs
tofu
soya 'meat'
seitan
Quorn
Greek yoghurt
beans
peas
lentils
nuts / seeds0 -
Replace some of your carbs with nuts and avocados.0

I'm in the same boat. Pescetarian and working on a recomp (lose fat, gain muscle).
I keep my macros at 30P-30F-40C. I have cut out grain, flour, sugar, and alcohol. I have to use whey protein shakes to get my 30%. I do 3/4 cup of liquid egg whites each day in the am, and one greek yogurt for a late day snack. I get about 117-124 grams of protein on a 1650 calorie day.0
