I;ve been looking on the Bodybuilding.com website at the workout programs but how on earth do you decide which ones to go for when there's so many #informationoverload :-(

Decide on fitness / physique goals
Assess what equipment / resources are available (e.g. at gym, at home etc. etc.)
Assess your schedule and see how much time you wish to commit to fitness
Choose something you enjoy and will be consistent with

i hired a personal trainer to design my workout.. no ongoing costs, just a one off fee to design it... for exactly the reason you mention in your post

I'm so crap at making decisions, I read to much information then go on "information overload" rather just thinking "Right, this is what I want to do".......

So, today I want to work on upper body i.e. biceps, triceps, shoulders, back, would the following routine be OK? I've used this equipment before in bodypump so I know how to use it but its the first time I'm doing my own workout in the Gym:

Would you class the following workout as OK and a mixture.

Barbell Curl: 3x Sets of 10 (biceps)
Dumbell Bicep Curl: 3x Sets of 10 (biceps)
Tricep Dips: 3x Sets of 10 (triceps)
Front & Side Shoulder Raises: 3x Sets of 10 (shoulders)
Shoulders Presses: 3x Sets of 10 (shoulders)
Deadlifts: 2x Sets of 5 (I only did my first deadlifts yesterday so don;t want to over do it and this is the amount I did with the PT)

    Thanks all

I use the Power of 10 workout - check it out the book on Amazon
    Videos are on Youtube.
    Leg press
    Lat Pulldown
    Shoulder Press
    Upright Row
    Chest Press
    Ab curl
1 set each of 4-6 reps (to failure)
10 seconds positive and 10 seconds negative
    Rest 5-7 days
    Repeat
