Well, hell. Need to lose more first.

My initial weight loss goal was 112.4 pounds, partly because it would get me reasonably into the healthy BMI range for my height and partly because that's how much my younger daughter weighed at the time.

I'm nearly there, but that weight will leave me a little too high to start bulking. I'll probably need to lose another 10-15 pounds to get closer to 12% body fat or so.

I'm pretty ready to stop eating at a freakin' deficit. So close, and yet so far.

Do you have an estimate of your BF% now? Or, your BF% when you hit your goal weight?

Eating at a deficit does get tedious, especially when you see other people eating all the things all the time. Maybe once you get to your original goal weight, you can cut your deficit in half? That way you're still reducing (although slowly), but you get to enjoy a few more calories for the summer.

Thanks. The problem at this point is that I pretty much had it in my head that when I hit my target -- even though I knew it was little more than a guess -- I'd be in a position to get out of eating at a deficit and start building some muscle at a surplus. That makes the extension of time in a deficit a bit annoying, and not a little frustrating, but it is what it is.

I think my body fat percentage is a shade above 20% and would be a little above 15% at my initial target.

I've been looking at adding about 150 a day every couple of weeks or so to try to come in for a "soft landing" at whatever weight I need to reach and to get a decent feel for my actual TDEE before I start going into a surplus.

I'm still eating at a deficit that would cause most of y'all shake your heads, but I am cutting it a bit. There's always the tension between eating at a lower deficit and extending the time in deficit. I'd like to make the remaining time in deficit as short as possible without doing stuff even I think is crazy.

Great job on the weight loss! I'm noticing now that I'm in the 12-14% BF Range it's much harder to "notice" the changes in my body composition. I give that BF range because I use calipers and the Omron machine at my gym. They give me different numbers.
